Advanced Functional Trainer Therapy

At FASTER we respect the fact that as a Personal Trainer you cannot speed up the recovery of an injury (in fact many therapies are about reducing the effects of the injury or protecting the injured site, rather than treating or fixing the area.)
You can make sure that the client does not lose as much – or in some cases any – conditioning in areas of the body that would become weak, and while doing so you could help reduce the chances of the same injury recurring, or a secondary injury arising from overuse of other body parts.
We only ever work on clients with diagnosed injuries, who have been cleared to train, and we never work against the advice of the qualified medical practitioner who has diagnosed and then assisted the client.
When working with an injury, we look at the effects the compensation pattern, caused by protecting the injury, will have on the conditioning of the rest of the chain. For example a dislocated shoulder would have a detrimental effect on the thoracic spine, by reducing the amount of rotation and lateral flexion it goes through daily.
In order to see this working you need to be familiar with our functional training approach to promoting motion, muscle reactivity and biomechanics, alongside some injuries and how you would compensate around them.
