Diploma Functional Therapy – BRIGHTON

This is the live version of our 2012 revised and extended Diploma Functional Therapy.

Learn how to train people for accelerated recovery from diagnosed injury using functional training assessments, hands-on techniques, movement patterns and progressions, so that you become the functional therapy expert in your locality.

This is a course for trainers who want to be at the leading edge of their industry, and are prepared to work hard to get there. You will be studying the body in dysfunction – joint by joint, muscle by muscle and motion by motion – in three planes, and across many different movement scenarios.

The course is suitable for Instructors, Personal Trainers, Therapists, Sports Coaches and other Health & Fitness Professionals who have an existing foundation in the principles of sport and exercise, and a drive to develop their own thought process, skills and techniques.

The course comprises six modules on Functional Therapy, plus a further three extra and outstanding modules, new for 2012, on Sales, Marketing and Coaching, to help you take your business as a trainer to another level of excellence and financial success.

Module One – Functional Anatomy of Injuries
Functional Anatomy of Injuries: General Anatomy; Bone motions basics; Joint motions basic; A New Approach to Muscles; HMAC Micro;Theories on injuries…acute or chronic; All the Injuries
Module Two – Driving Motion in the Lower Body

Module Three – Driving Motion in the Upper Body

Module Four – Chronic and Acute Injuries
In Part 1 we will be looking at chronic injuries, and in Part 2 we will move onto acute injuries. In this module we introduce the full HMAC in its newest version: HMACIV. The HMAC displays everything that is going on in a movement, in chronological order, including all bone feelings and joint feelings. This latest version also covers muscle reactions.
Module 5 – Assess and Solve
This module is about finding hidden movements asymmetries and then making them more balanced, using the exercises and ADS you already have from earlier in the course.
Module Six – Returning to Performance
In this module we look at how the client can be supported through the optimum exercise programme in returning to performance.
Module 7 – Mastering Selling
The end goal of making a sale in a personal training environment, is to have the client sign up for the course of sessions, for you to know that they will be re-signing for years and for them to feel an urge to sell you to all of their friends for you!
Module 8 -Marketing:The Art of Becoming a Hub
This module is the most important to any trainer who needs to stay in business and grow in business. It covers the important aspects of marketing that will allow you to have a constant stream of potential new clients walking through the door.
Module 9 – Coaching:The Art of the Industry
This module has been devised to help you work with your client and help them in their journey to achieving their goals. Our goal is to help better understand how to be a coach and the benefits of coaching your clients.

These course notes are a transcript of the upcoming audio and video file. So where you read “I” that refers to the author John and where you read “we” that means the company, FASTER. We have not sought to change this as we are a company that seeks to be less corporate and more community-oriented.
